This professional and research seminar led by Kristian Kjeldsen, head of financial stability at the Single Resolution Board (SRB) was intended to inform the EUI community about the role and activities of the SRB.
In May 2017, the European Commission published a reflection paper on Deepening of the Economic and Monetary Union and other key policy proposals. On 11 and 12 December, the European University Institute hosted a workshop to take stock of how economic and monetary union has evolved since the crisis and to assess the legal issues arising out of policy proposals that arise from the reflection paper. ADEMU’s workshop on rethinking fiscal policy, hosted by the Católica Lisbon School of Business & Economics, attracted speakers from institutions including the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, Banco de España, the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Minnesota.

A conference on Fiscal Risk and Public Sector Balance Sheets was held on July 6-7 at the University of Bonn as part of the ADEMU Project. The conference brought together theoretical and empirical research, focusing on the research that has been spurred by the European fiscal crisis on measurement and modeling of fiscal risk. Under the umbrella of the ADEMU project, Franck Portier of the Toulouse School of Economics (TSE) organized a summer school from 19th to 20th of June 2017. During those two days, the participants (PhD students, postdocs and professors from European and American universities) followed an ambitious schedule of lectures and presentations focusing on the ADEMU research agenda hosted in the premises of TSE.
