In November 2016, economic historian Professor Harold James visited the European University Institute to deliver a lecture on the topic of his latest book, The Euro and the Battle of Ideas.
Co-authored by Markus Brunnermeier and Jean-Pierre Landau, the book asks why Europe’s great monetary endeavor, the Euro, is in trouble and discusses how a string of economic difficulties in Greece, Ireland, Spain, Italy, and other Eurozone nations have left observers wondering whether the currency union can survive.
Following the lecture, ADEMU spoke to Professor James and discussed the theories contained within the book. Watch the video.
