This first lecture held by the ADEMU research project looked at the fiscal sustainability of the Euro Area. The lecture was led by Professor Eric Leeper, who is a Rudy Professor of Economics at Indiana University. He is also a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research, director of the Center for Applied Economics and Policy Research at Indiana University, and an external advisor to the Sveriges Riksbank. Professor Leeper is also an editor of the European Economic Review. He is a member of the Research Council of the Bundesbank and has served as an academic advisor to the Federal Reserve Board and the European Central Bank.
Professor Leeper’s research focuses on theoretical and empirical models of macro policy, with special emphasis on monetary-fiscal policy interactions.
