Reconciling risk sharing with market discipline: A constructive approach to euro area reform | EUI, 13 March 2018

A Roundtable on the French and German Economists’ Proposal for the EMU

The aim of the roundtable was to discuss the proposal for euro-area reform authored by 14 authoritative French and German economists, recently published as a CEPR Policy Insight paper.

The authors propose six reforms in which they argue that, if delivered as a package, could improve the euro area’s financial stability, political cohesion and potential for delivering prosperity to its citizens, while also addressing the priorities and concerns of participating countries.
